Every year St Vincent de Paul society organise an event called the CEO sleep out. The sleep out raises funds for programs that assist Australia’s homeless. The event is also used as a tool to raise awareness of the plight faced by these individuals on a daily basis. Ceo’s from around Australia sleep out under the stars with little more than a sleeping bag and some warm clothes.
This year the event managed to raise over five million dollars in much needed funds which will used to assist all of St Vincents homeless services across the country, this was raised by the 1,033 CEO’S who participated across the country.
Red Design Groups Managing Principal, Roy Tavenor was one of the many participants who slept out at Etihad stadium on Thursday 21st of June. Roy’s day consisted of working 9 hours then heading straight to Etihad stadium, sleeping bag in tow, showering at the Qantas lounge at Melbourne Airport then boarding a 6am flight to Sydney. Little to say he was exhausted, but was more than happy to be part of this great experience while helping raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause.
Throughout the night there was a vast amount of social media participation from the event organisers an CEO’S alike. To take a look at all the great images and updates please click on the links below and check out the website to get extra information on this fantastic yearly event.
